Daylight in the Sun

Daylight walked into Autumn Springs. Her silver coat gleamed in the dappled sunlight as she drank from the warm stream. Her silver mane fell down her neck as she glanced up and saw another horse with her liquid brown eyes. Small, petite white hooves picked their way through the soft grass to the horse.

Skylight saw the mare approch. Rearing, she neighed loudly, and trotted to her then reared again, telling her if she wanted to fight, she'd picked the wrong horse, "Thy name be Skylight," she said proudly, rearing up again

Daylight walked calmly up to Skylight. She was very intimidating.

'I am Daylight. I do not want to fight, but I will if I must. Don't underestimate me!'
Daylight watched Skylight.
'You are not from around here. Where are you from?'

Skylight laughed triumphantly, "I, come from warriors! I am Warrior Skylight! Don't underestimate me, miss Daylight"

Daylight didn't think she wanted to fight a warrior, but she did look like a nice horse deep down.

'I am alone. My stallion just rejected me from his herd. I have no'one to run with.'

Daylight turned and ran across the red and gold leaves, scattering them. She jumped a lone log. Not judging her landing right, she slipped and cut her leg. Standing still as blodd trickled down her leg, she was scared.

Skylight snorted and trotted over, and jumped the log. She looked at Daylight, "You may be able to run with my herd." Skylight said, thinking deeply

Ezra galloped around the forest, hi heavy hooves thudding. His muscles showed, and his body glowed. He looked around making sure no horses or creatures were spying on him. He reared and galloped on.

Daylight said she would. Skylight looked like a nice horse.

Her leg had stopped bellding. She could still run, but it hurt.
'Skylight, where is your herd?'

Skylight nodded, reared and neighed in a sort of call. Thundering hooves were heard and a large troop of horses galloped over to Skylight, "You are now one of ours" She confirmed

Daylight trotted over painfully to meet the other mares. She greeted them: they seemed nice. they all looked like warriors- all strong. She hoped she would be like them one day.

Skylight snorted, and began galloping, and her herd followed. She went deeper into Autmn Springs. She stopped, and began pawing at the leaves. Underneath them, she grazed on the delicious grass below, and then herd followed her actions

Daylight took big mouthfuls of the green grass. Her previous stallion hadnt known the land so they had had little to eat.
She went over to see Skylight.
'You say you are warriors... where did you come from?'

"That I do not know, these horses were bred from previous horses, and were first lead by my early ancestors, i dont know where they came from."

'Were you from this earth? or from the Sky? Your herd looks like they were bred for human use. All horses know humans came from the sky.'

Daylight had been told that by her mother. From what she had seen from humans, they looked like gods.

Skylight snorted "Enough questions" she warned, and continued grazing while watching for threats

Daylight didnt think she had offended Skylight, but Skylight knew better than her. he went back to grazing.
Watching foals play nearby, she realised that this herd was much more laid back than her last one. It had all been kept in strict order, and lots of the horses felt unhappy...
she hoped she could fit in here.

Skylight sighed, and rose her head. She checked over the herd, then went over to the foals to play with them for a bit.

Dalight heard a noise nearby. She looked- it was humans! She ran over to tell Skylight.
