Mistic's Trouble

Mistic was sad. She hung her head as she drank from the Silver Stream. She looked up and saw another horse, but then dropped her head again.

Lilly bucked, pigrooted and kicked. She galloped along, her mane whipping like a white flame.

Seeing the horse was bucking, she cantered over to see if anything was wrong.

Lilly neighed in enjoyment. She saw the other horse and froze. Her eye pricked and eyes fixed on her.

Mistic walked over to Lilly.
'Hi, Im Mistic, what's your name? I was a human's horse, but they abandoned me here, and I don't know how to get back to them,' Mistic wondered if Lilly knew humans, or if she hated them like all the other wild horses she had met...

Lilly shook her head. "I'm Lilly"

'Can you help me get back to my humans? Or am I better off without them?'
She flicked her shining tail; the humans had kept her well.

Lilly shook her head. "sure, follow" She said.

Mistic followed Lilly, hoping she knew where she was going.
'Were you a humans horse once?'

Lilly shook her head "Nope, never"

'Then how do you know too much about them? Do you follow them or something?'

Mistic wondereed why Lilly was on her own. Wasn't horses nomally meant to live in herds in the wild?

Lilly frowned "They follow me, do you know how many ropes have been around my neck" She said. Lilly is in Morning Dews and Midnight Sun's mini herd.

'Oh yeah, Ive been ridden when wild horses are being roped... its very... hard. I think Ive seen you once or twice... with two white stallions. Do you think life is better as a wild horse?'

Mistic was starting to remember the many downfalls of being owned... spurs, whips, having to walk all day without stopping for food or drink...

Lilly snorted and shook her head "Go home" she told her. ''I wouldn't give being a wild horse up for anything, but, once you are tamed, you are tame"

Mistic was shocked... she thought wild horses would have wanted more horses... she turned and galloped off in the other direction, then stopped, looked back at Lilly, then galloped back.

'I dont want to go back,' she said.

Lilly neighed "Watch yourself" She said. Lilly reared and galloped off, the new scent of the mare would cause trouble with the stallions. She neighed and extended her stride, powering ahead.

Mistic galloped off after Lilly.
'Can I come with you? I want to meet your herd.'
She hoped Lilly wouldn't think she was stupid.

Lilly snorted. "Ok" She said

Mistic cantered after Lilly. She wondered where they were going.

Lilly galloped on, looking around.

Mistic hoped she wouldn't run into any humans. She wanted to avoid them now. She wondered if they were looking for her.

She galloped on after Lilly.
