Silence nickered softly to the horses in the barn, and nibbled at her hay. Her white forelock fell over her eyes and she looked up as she heard a few birds in the loft and began pacing her stall waiting for her morning turn out. Her pearl white coat was a bit dusty from the hay dust. She flicked her tail at a fly and stuck her head out the stall door, looking for Heidi.

Skye nickered to Sinlence. She looked happy, but Skye was bored. She hated being stabled, plus it was too hot and humid and she was getting sweaty. She had drunk all her water and noone had brought her more.

Silence pricked her ears at Skye and turned around in the stall, And looked at Skye. Wondering what was wrong, and then noticing the empty water trough and wondered why no one had came to fill it.

Skye watched people passing her stall. She whickered out to a person she ahd seen before, who came over and had a look at her. Shock crossed her face as she saw the state Skye was in. She was skinny adn bony and malnourished.The person led her out of her stall and gave her a feed and a bucket of water. Feeling better, Skye glanced up inot the blue sky. She wondered what was going to happen. She saw Silence watching her and called
out.
'Is Heidi there yet?'

Silence nickered back a 'yes' as Heidi walked into the barn, her blonde hair lightly bouncing as she walked towards Silence and gave her a Ginger snap. Heidi slipped one into Skye's stall, unsure if she would want it. Heidi then walked to the feed room to get Silence and Prayer's feed. She soon returned and fed Silence and then walked to where Prayer was.

Skye ater the ginger snap. It was the nicest thing she had ever tasted... better than chaff and museli that she got.

Today, as a girl walked towards her, she caried something hot and steamy in a bucket. A hot bran mash? This meant something was going to happen. She hoped she wasn't going to be sold... she was pampered the day before she was sold to Mikaela, her current owner.

Silence munched on her feed, a mix of sweet feed, oats and barley. Silence looked up at Skye, wondering what was going to happen. Heidi walked back still carrying the bag of Iced Ginger Snaps and walked into Silence's stall, ready to refresh her on the tricks she had taught her, Before she went riding. Heidi looked at Silence. "Do you love me?" Heidi asked. Silence bobbed her head up and down, and took the treat from Heidi. "Kisses." Heidi said as Silence nuzzled her check and Heidi gave her another treat. Heidi smiled and petted Silence before going back to where Prayer was.

'Skye! What happened to you?'

Mikaela came up to her. Skye whickered.

'I leave you for 2 weeks... and this is what's happened? I should have known that Sara girl didnt know a thing about horses when I told her to look after you.'

Mikaela fed her a lifesaver and filled up her water. She promised never to leave her again.

Silence looked at Skye, Happy that her owner was there and would be able to take care of her. Silence shook away her forelock which needed a little trim and blew the powder suplmetn out of her feed.

Skye soped she would be ridden soon. She whickered to Mikaela, and Mikaela came over to her. using her best eyes, she asked. She wished humans could uinderstand,.

A dark shadow hid in the dark corners on the stall at the end. The shadow let out a shaky whicker, he paced at the back of his stall and kept peering into his water trough. He refused to drink from the algue covered bucket with the muddy water. It just smelt wrong. The mouldy hay lay on the ground were it was discarded a week ago. The shadow blinked his invisable eyes and returned to the corner.

Skye saw a horse hiding in a stall. She couldnt see it properly, but it didnt look good. she whickered to Mikaela again, then stared at the stall. Mikaela went over to have a look.

The horse in the end stall screamed out at the figure at his door. His eyes rolled back and his ears pinned back. He half reared, warning the human.

Mikaela spoke in a quiet, confident way, trying to calm the horse. She sung softly, and moved slowly, trying not to alarm it any further. Skye watched intently. She hoped the horse would calm down.

Mikaela, pulled a mint out of her pocket. She bit a bit off and wafted the smell in the air, holding her hand out to the horse.

The colt bared his teeth at the hand and shivered.

Mikale sang softly to the colt. She glanced at Skye through a window in the stall- Skye was watching intently. She looked back to the colt and moved a little closer, then stopped, hoping he would be curious.

The shodowy figure shook and bared his teeth and hissed at the girl, though his ears did flicker towards her slightly.

Mikaela noticed the colt's ears. She didn't know what made him this bad; she could only persist for so long before he gave in or hurt her.

She stretched her hand out further. Grinding a bit if the mint, she hoped this horse would trust her.

The colt snorted, bared his teeth and lunged at the girl, scraping skin off her hand and taking the mint with it.

Mikaela was happy- the colt hadnt done anything bad to her, and it had taken the mint. She turned and left the stall, nursing her hurt hand.

Brumb, remember, no powerplay =P

powerplaying is controlling the other player. ie:

The colt snorted and whinnied at the girl as she walked away.

Mikaela turned around and looked at the colt again. She wondered if he wanted her to come back, or if he just wanted more mints.

Sorry, I though power play was dong something to another player, beacuse you scraped the skin of my hand! =P Soz

The colt looked at the girl through long, dark lashes. He took a small step out of the shadows, his tiny skiny body dully shining in the light.

Mikaela wondered who owned him. He didnt look angry now, he was calmer. She pulled another mint out of her pocket and offered it to him. Looking around, she saw his hay net was full but he didnt have much water left

The colt looked at the mint, he took another step closer and snatched it more gently and the danced away. this was way better than mouldy hay.
